Vocare - Staffordshire region


Through Staffordshire Doctors Urgent Care (SDUC), Vocare provides GP led out-of-hours care for Staffordshire including Stoke-on-Trent, Leek, Stafford, Cannock, Uttoxeter, Burton, Lichfield and Tamworth.

We also provide the NHS 111 service across the whole of Staffordshire serving a population of over one million people.

Introducing our team

Dr Raju Valasapalli - Local Clinical Director for Staffordshire

Raju is responsible for medical safety amongst clinicians and engagement with local services. Prior to joining SDUC he was a local GP.

Dr Peter Jones - Local Clinical Director for Staffordshire

Peter is responsible for clinical governance, GP supervision, training and recruitment. Prior to joining SDUC he was a GP appraiser and has been involved in out-of-hours administration since 1996.

Jack Butler - Assistant Regional Director

Jack became the Regional Operations Manager for Yorkshire Doctors Urgent Care in September 2015, after supporting the mobilisation of the Yorkshire contract since April 2015. Jack moved from Staffordshire Doctors Urgent Care to manage the Yorkshire service, with a wealth of experience in Operations. During Jack's time at SDUC, he carried out various roles from Despatcher to Senior Team Leader. Before Jack joined the Vocare team, he had worked in accounting and for the ambulance service.

Helen Poole - Clinical Services Manager

Helen helps to deliver service improvement initiatives within the 111 service, GP out-of-hours and urgent care services in the Staffordshire area. She works closely with other local health care providers to shape future care pathways for patients within the urgent care system. Helen is a qualified nurse, having previously been a Clinical Advisor at Vocare and a Nurse Advisor at NHS Direct.

Bev Steele - Assistant Operations Manager at Staffordshire 111

Bev manages the operation of the Staffordshire 111 service. Prior to joining SDUC she spent 13 years as contact centre manager within a 40 seat centre and has an NVQ 3 in management. She is Pathways trained as a 111 call handler.

West Midlands

West Midlands Doctors Urgent Care is providing joined up urgent care services in Wolverhampton which include an Urgent Care Centre situated at the New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton, open 24 hours a day.
