The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has awarded the NHS111 service for Bath and North-East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire a 'good' rating, following a recent inspection. The service is provided by Vocare, a Totally plc company, which provides a wide range of out of hospital services across the UK.
Since May 2018, Vocare, has been delivering 111 services to the area, which serves approximately 900,000 patients, as part of an Integrated Urgent Care service with local partners. Vocare delivers GP out of hours and urgent care services to more than 9.2million patients nationally.
When inspecting health services to provide a rating, the CQC looks at five key areas to assess whether they are safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. In each of the five key areas, the 111 team achieved 'good'.
Dr Jim Heptinstall, Medical Director, Vocare said:
"This is fantastic news for residents in this area. We are incredibly proud of the service we offer and the result is testament to the hard work and commitment of the local and national Vocare teams to provide patients safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led healthcare."
"We continue to work hard across all our services to provide accessible and high quality care."
